Is anybody surprised?  Off course not, what the heck was Elton smoking on when he decided to bring this topic up?!

In his interview for last week’s issue of Parade, he shared: I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems. On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving. I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East—you’re as good as dead.”

Ugh-huh, pretty liberal understanding of faith, don’t you agree? And, as expected, Christian groups rushed to answer this referring to  Elton John ignorant and intolerant.

Catholic League President, Bill Donohue, slammed Elton immediately:Jesus was certainly compassionate, but to say He was “super-intelligent” is to compare the Son of God to a successful game-show contestant. More seriously, to call Jesus a homosexual is to label Him a sexual deviant.

But what else would we expect from a man who previously said, “From my point of view, I would ban religion completely.”

We’re not sure what’s worse—John’s ignorance or intolerance. In any event, if we thought we could persuade him to issue an apology, we would try. But given his recidivism, we won’t even bother to ask. One thing is clear: someone needs to straighten John out. “

Elton John: Jesus was gay…

Legendary British musician Elton John gave an interview to U.S. magazine most read “parade”, in which, among other things, talked about the position of gay people in the Middle East. “I think that Jesus was compassionate, superinteligentan gay man who understood the human issues,” said John. “The cross has forgiven the people who crucified him, and he wanted to all be full of love and understanding. I do not know why people are so cruel, and try to be a lesbian in the Middle East, it’s like to sign the death sentence itself.” His statement has stirred passions in the world press, especially in the U.S. where religious groups publicly burned plates sixties The Beatles after John Lennon said that his band more popular than Jesus. Elton also noted the death of Princess Diana and Michael Jackson, and the murder of Lennon and Gianni Versace. “Glory attracts fools, do not be killed that were not known. I had no bodyguards while Gianni was killed, but since then I am very careful and do not like what I’m famous,” said the singer who will be 3rd June to compete in the “Belgrade Arena”.
